Bazar Pazardzhik

The competition sought submissions for the conceptual design of the new City Market and improvement of the surrounding urban environment.

The competition was also to award the technical and working investment project. The  Municipality of Pazardzhik hopes that the implementation of the winning project will transform the City Market into a modern, appealing and accessible center.

Participants were tasked to address connectivity issues between market functions, pedestrian and vehicle traffic, and surrounding buildings and green spaces. The ultimate goal of the Municipality remains ensuring a higher quality of service for the market producers, sellers, and consumers, and for the residents and visitors of the city.

The 73 competition submissions were assessed by a 7-member international jury. The panel was composed of architects, landscape architects and urbanists.

First place was awarded the joint proposal of POV and PONY studios.
